My Early Bird journal

I have finally finished my Early Bird Christmas Crafting journal.

I`m very satisfied with the stitchery and the assembly of the whole journal cover,
but I missed one important detail.... enough  seam allowance.....
So the journal got a bit to small, but i squeezed it on!!

I have already written a "to make" list, and now I can start to fill it in on the pages.
I`m also going to keep copies of patterns I`ve used in here for easy assess later...

More quilting

Today`s quilting took about 6 hours! But then again: I`ve got 3 children to watch.......

I quilted the wide outer border. I used Border Made Easy nr 111.
(the thin one in previous post is nr 115).

Yesterday I cut the border and placed them.
The borders has tape on the sides, but I used some pins too.

So I spent today quilting... It`s getting big and harder to handle!

It`s 6 laps to go! It looks great :oD

Mona asked where I buy them and I buy all my borders at Quiltegården
Give Siw a call or send her a mail and she`ll let you know if she`s got the one you want.
And if she doesn`t, I`m sure she`ll order it for you :oD

When it`s about the length of stitches, here I use a bit more than 4.
I read in Rie Norums book, Quiltegleder page 12 to do so, so I did :oD.........
(It`s to give it a more soft look! like hand quilted...)

Later I will rip of the paper and tomorrow is binding day :oD
(I still need to quilt in the blocks, but I`ll do that another day...)

Tomorrow it`s sewing down tread ends and attashing the wide, outer border...

Two hours later....

All done.

I`s a dirty job... but mom`s got to do it.... ha ha ha

Journal is in the making.....

Found some goodies in the sewing room....

Now back to the drawing board, I would like a stitchery on this one.
It`s going to say Julen 2010 (Christmas 2010) and my name.
I`m very into Lynette Anderson at the time, so I`ve had a reed in Lynette`s:
Rainbow Cottage and I`m doing just a small piece of a larger design...
my way....

I`ve joined the Early Bird Christmas Crafting over at Judith Tetley`s Creative Studio blog.
Just what I need to get the Christmas gift-making started, and hopefully finished in time.

The challenge starts to day and lasts for 4 months......
......and the project pile should have grown a lot by the time it`s done.....
........I hope.... lots of gifts to give....

We start with making a journal, then a gift list.
I will add a "to do! list as well... things I would like to make for Christmas.

Now I`m headed downstairs for the sewing room to find fabrics and other things I`ll need to make me a journal.
